Sophistication, woolen coats and unfussy cashmere

Finally! My first 2014 fashion week post is a fact! 🙂

I haven’t been very active lately, but with finals coming up I just can’t find the time to write a decent post.

But a new year also means the start of fashion week, which has given me a reason to write something again.

I’ve been in bed all week and it gave me some time to watch the NYFW shows. I have seen some amazing collections and I just needed to share them with you guys.

I’ll start with the last show I’ve seen. That was Serge Azrias’ Joie show.

I think this fall collection is very pretty and simple. I’ve got a slight obsession with anything black, I just love simple black outfits and I think that’s what this collection’s about. It’s all very sophisticated and simple, things you can wear to work or school. There were plenty of camel and cream, substantial knits and unfussy cashmere. In one word: Casual.

My favourite piece of the collection:

The next collection is the Sass & Bide collection

Although I loved almost everything I saw in this show, I don’t know if I’d wear it myself.
You need amazing legs to wear any piece of the collection. Which wasn’t a problem for the models on the catwalk. If you’ve seen previous collections of Sass & Bide then you’ll probably recognize a lot. The collection was a typical Sass & Bide style with a largely black, white and gold palette.
But still the collection looked very fresh and ready to wear.

My favourite piece:

And the last one: Ralph Lauren Fall 2014

There’s only one word I could think of when I saw the Ralph Lauren fashion show: chic.

Everything is so typical Ralph Lauren. The enormous coats, the heats and pantalons.
It is not my favourite collection of NYFW but I really like the chic look.
I absolutely loved the big coats and this is probabl the most beautiful coat I have ever seen:

The perfect outfit

One of my biggest (and meaningless) addictions is looking at clothes on net-a-porter.
I love pretty much everything on that site. But it’s such a waste of time because I (and I think most of you too) won’t ever be able to buy those clothes, unless I become very smart, rich or end up being married with a rich guy.

Today I decided to make my addiction a little less meaningless. I have picked out some pieces to create ” the” perfect outfit. Just because we can’t effort Valentino or Prada does’t mean we can’t use it as inspiration for when we go to the high street!

My outfit:
dress

VALENTINO
Beaded tulle and wool-blend crepe mini dress
€7500
I think this dress is so cute.
I absolutely love dresses with collors. It makes the dress look so sophisticated.
I know it’s not affordable but there are so many cheaper copies of dresses like this. I have one from Primark and it’s only €14 pounds. And there are so many different colors.

coat

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
Oversized textured coat
€2,972.97
Same sweet color.
The coat just looks so soft and pretty.
And again there are many similair coats. H&M sells coats like this.
