Pre summer wish list ♡

First I need to apologize for the lack of updates on my blog. The last few months were very busy and emotional.  I had finals and a lot of other stuff going on. But most of it is over now and I passed my exams, which means high school is over for me! So here’s a new post!

Just like we all do I’ve been looking for clothes and accessories on the Internet.  I decided to not buy things online anymore because I’ve never bought something I really wanted to keep. So I decided to look for things online and buy them in the real world;)
Next week I’m going to Amsterdam with my friends so I’m looking for some inspiration for all the summer things I want to buy.

bubblegum-500x500
The first thing I want and need so badly is a lip scrub.
This morning I was watching one of Tanya Burs’ haul videos and she showed the Lush lip scrub, it looked very cute and I really need something that fixes my dry lips. Lip balm just doesn’t work for me anymore. On the Lush website they have three different types of the scrub: Mint Julips, Popcorn and the one in the photo is Bubblegum.
So this is definitely on my wihs list!
I will buy the Bubblegum scrub this month and I will let you know what I think of it!

Hema nagellak pastel

Second there’s something I actually already have but I need more colors; Nail polish!
I think these are very pretty summer colors and I already bought the second (very pretty, light kind of neon blue pastel) and the last one which is very pretty light pink.
This Hema long lasting nailpolish edition is very good and not at all expensive.
It’s only 2,50 euro p!

My most recent love: John Lennon sunglasses.
I don’t know which brand these are but I’m really looking for these sunglasses with round glasses.
So if anyone knows a brand (affordable please) please let me know in a comment!

Two weeks ago I was watching a 1975 video and Matty Healy wore a kimono. This was the moment I realised I need a kimono.
So I will buy one this month. It really is a trend this year. I think it just looks so cute and fashionable.
And I might be weird but Matty Healy is one of my fashion inspirations, because his style is perfect!

I’ve been looking for a body scrub for a while now and on super drug I found this Cheeky body scrub. I don’t know this brand but all their products look very cute and I really want to try it sometime!
It’s not the cheapest scrub you’ll find on super drug. This Cheeky Bright as a Button scrub costs 10 pounds.

So this was my mini pre summer wish list!
I hope you liked it;)

February net-a-porter outfit

Hi everyone!

While I was crying over all the beautiful (and expensive) clothes on net a porter, I decided to pick some pieces and create my dream outfit. There were so many things I loved but I chose this classy outfit.

Naamloos
I’ll start with the top. This is a Marni crystal-embellished jacquard top. I fell in love with it because of the amazing collar.
collar
The metallic jacquard is trimmed with diamonds. And the collar sits smoothly against your skin.

leather

I chose these Helmut Lang’s stretch leather leggings because it will give the outfit a ”cool” but sophisticated look.

heels

These leather Gianvito Rossi pumps go perfectly well with the leather leggings and I think pumps are the only kind of shoes you can wear under leather leggings.

I used:
Marni metallic jacquard – €980
Helmut Lang stretch leather leggings – €840
Gianvito Rossi pumps – €440

Let me know what you think of this outfit!

Kendall for Marc Jacobs

image

Kendall Jenner has finally made it to high fashion! Last week she walked her first show for Marc Jacobs during New York fashion week.
Kendall wore a completely sheer top, a cropped pair of brown pants and a wig. Her eyebrows were bleached which made her look like a total different person.

Kendalls look has been criticised a lot in the media the past few days but I think she totally rocked it. She is definitely born to be a runaway model!

Sophistication, woolen coats and unfussy cashmere

Finally! My first 2014 fashion week post is a fact! 🙂

I haven’t been very active lately, but with finals coming up I just can’t find the time to write a decent post.

But a new year also means the start of fashion week, which has given me a reason to write something again.

I’ve been in bed all week and it gave me some time to watch the NYFW shows. I have seen some amazing collections and I just needed to share them with you guys.

I’ll start with the last show I’ve seen. That was Serge Azrias’ Joie show.

I think this fall collection is very pretty and simple. I’ve got a slight obsession with anything black, I just love simple black outfits and I think that’s what this collection’s about. It’s all very sophisticated and simple, things you can wear to work or school. There were plenty of camel and cream, substantial knits and unfussy cashmere. In one word: Casual.

My favourite piece of the collection:

The next collection is the Sass & Bide collection

Although I loved almost everything I saw in this show, I don’t know if I’d wear it myself.
You need amazing legs to wear any piece of the collection. Which wasn’t a problem for the models on the catwalk. If you’ve seen previous collections of Sass & Bide then you’ll probably recognize a lot. The collection was a typical Sass & Bide style with a largely black, white and gold palette.
But still the collection looked very fresh and ready to wear.

My favourite piece:

And the last one: Ralph Lauren Fall 2014

There’s only one word I could think of when I saw the Ralph Lauren fashion show: chic.

Everything is so typical Ralph Lauren. The enormous coats, the heats and pantalons.
It is not my favourite collection of NYFW but I really like the chic look.
I absolutely loved the big coats and this is probabl the most beautiful coat I have ever seen:

The perfect outfit

One of my biggest (and meaningless) addictions is looking at clothes on net-a-porter.
I love pretty much everything on that site. But it’s such a waste of time because I (and I think most of you too) won’t ever be able to buy those clothes, unless I become very smart, rich or end up being married with a rich guy.

Today I decided to make my addiction a little less meaningless. I have picked out some pieces to create ” the” perfect outfit. Just because we can’t effort Valentino or Prada does’t mean we can’t use it as inspiration for when we go to the high street!

My outfit:
dress

VALENTINO
Beaded tulle and wool-blend crepe mini dress
€7500
I think this dress is so cute.
I absolutely love dresses with collors. It makes the dress look so sophisticated.
I know it’s not affordable but there are so many cheaper copies of dresses like this. I have one from Primark and it’s only €14 pounds. And there are so many different colors.

coat

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
Oversized textured coat
€2,972.97
Same sweet color.
The coat just looks so soft and pretty.
And again there are many similair coats. H&M sells coats like this.

bagap

LOEWE
Amazona large leather tote
€1,600

shoes

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA
Belle crocheted and velvet pumps
€895

bracelet

ERICKSON BEAMON
Whiter Shade Of Pale Swarovski crystal gold-plated cuff
€982

Milan fashion week: My favorites

Hi!

Since my London fashion week post was very popular and I really loved making it I decided to make a Milan fashion week favorites post. Of course I have been watching all the shows and unfortunately I didn’t like a lot of the shows. I think because I was so excited about London fashion week and I loved a lot of shows there. But I did find some brands who did have decent clothes.

The first one to catch my eye is Emilio Pucci Spring 2014
I loved the outfits because it is all streetstyle. It’s something we would wear and for me that’s one of the most important things when I look at a show. I also love the special creations, the things I won’t ever wear because that’s fashion, but sometimes you’re just looking for inspiration and for me the Pucci show had that inspiration.

_ON_0815.450x675 Ophelie Guillermand

The second show was the Jil Sander Spring 2014 show
Simple but effective

MARC0093.450x675 Kayley Chabot
MARC0108.450x675 Ine Neefs

And the last one: Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2014

These were my favorites of the Milan fashion week!!

Healthy junk

Hi everyone!
My favorite time of the year has finally started. It’s autumn!
The upcoming months (including the winter) always make me feel really happy.
But.. there’s also a negative side, for me, on this time of the year: the food.
The cosiness in my house and the colth and rainy weather outside just make me wanna eat all sorts of bad things. That’s why I decided to look for some ”healthy bad food”.
And I thought there might be more people like me so I’ll share it with you guys!

The first recipe I found was something I really love since I ate my first piece of it at Starbucks:
Carrot cake! Apparently there’s a healthier way of making this cake.
I found this recipe on eatingwell.com

Carrot Cake: The healthy recipe

Carrots give carrot cake a health-halo effect—people think it’s health food, but it’s usually very high in fat and calories. But our version has about 40 percent less calories and 50 percent less fat than most. First, we use less oil in our batter. Then we skip the butter in the frosting (don’t worry, it’s still light and smooth). To ensure the cake is moist, we add nonfat buttermilk and crushed pineapple.

INGREDIENTS CAKE

1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple
2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour, (see Ingredient Note)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup nonfat buttermilk, (see Tip)
1/2 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups grated carrots, (4-6 medium)
1/4 cup unsweetened flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted (see Tip)
FROSTING
12 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese, (Neufchâtel), softened
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons coconut chips, (see Ingredient Note) or flaked coconut, toasted

PREPARATION
To prepare cake: Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
Drain pineapple in a sieve set over a bowl, pressing on the solids. Reserve the drained pineapple and 1/4 cup of the juice.
Whisk flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Whisk eggs, sugar, buttermilk, oil, vanilla and the 1/4 cup pineapple juice in a large bowl until blended. Stir in pineapple, carrots and 1/4 cup coconut. Add the dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula just until blended. Stir in the nuts. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Bake the cake until the top springs back when touched lightly and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
To prepare frosting and finish cake: Beat cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake. Sprinkle with toasted coconut.

Enjoy!!
