Pre summer wish list ♡

First I need to apologize for the lack of updates on my blog. The last few months were very busy and emotional.  I had finals and a lot of other stuff going on. But most of it is over now and I passed my exams, which means high school is over for me! So here’s a new post!

Just like we all do I’ve been looking for clothes and accessories on the Internet.  I decided to not buy things online anymore because I’ve never bought something I really wanted to keep. So I decided to look for things online and buy them in the real world;)
Next week I’m going to Amsterdam with my friends so I’m looking for some inspiration for all the summer things I want to buy.

bubblegum-500x500
The first thing I want and need so badly is a lip scrub.
This morning I was watching one of Tanya Burs’ haul videos and she showed the Lush lip scrub, it looked very cute and I really need something that fixes my dry lips. Lip balm just doesn’t work for me anymore. On the Lush website they have three different types of the scrub: Mint Julips, Popcorn and the one in the photo is Bubblegum.
So this is definitely on my wihs list!
I will buy the Bubblegum scrub this month and I will let you know what I think of it!

Hema nagellak pastel

Second there’s something I actually already have but I need more colors; Nail polish!
I think these are very pretty summer colors and I already bought the second (very pretty, light kind of neon blue pastel) and the last one which is very pretty light pink.
This Hema long lasting nailpolish edition is very good and not at all expensive.
It’s only 2,50 euro p!

My most recent love: John Lennon sunglasses.
I don’t know which brand these are but I’m really looking for these sunglasses with round glasses.
So if anyone knows a brand (affordable please) please let me know in a comment!

Two weeks ago I was watching a 1975 video and Matty Healy wore a kimono. This was the moment I realised I need a kimono.
So I will buy one this month. It really is a trend this year. I think it just looks so cute and fashionable.
And I might be weird but Matty Healy is one of my fashion inspirations, because his style is perfect!

I’ve been looking for a body scrub for a while now and on super drug I found this Cheeky body scrub. I don’t know this brand but all their products look very cute and I really want to try it sometime!
It’s not the cheapest scrub you’ll find on super drug. This Cheeky Bright as a Button scrub costs 10 pounds.

So this was my mini pre summer wish list!
I hope you liked it;)

5 healthy late-night snacks

My biggest struggle when I try to eat clean is what to do when I get hungry after 8pm?
I try to stay away from the unhealthy snacks as much as possible but sometimes you just NEED to eat something!

I found 5 healthy snacks you can eat when you really can’t stop thinking about food:)
The trick is to eat something that won’t spike your blood suger or pack on pounds.
Here are some light but filling snacks:

1 medium banana + 1 tablespoon almond butter

1 medium apple + 1 ounce low-fat cheese

1/4 cup black beans + 1 small corn tortilla

1 cup blueberries + 6 to 8 ounces plain, non-fat yogurt

1 cup carrot sticks + 3 tablespoons hummus

From Clinique to Tea Tree

A few months ago I decided that I needed to spent less money on my skin care. I know skin care is really important but because I’m a student with no job I can’t afford to spent so much money on skin care products. I’ve been using Clinique for 6 years. My mum uses it for as long as I can remember so I started using it as well when I was about 12 years old. But to be honest for such an expensive brand I wasn’t really satisfied with the way my skin looked. I always had spots on my face even though I used my Clinique three steps everyday.

I have a really dry and sensible skin so I can’t use perfumed skin care. I decided to try the tea tree products because it’s a natural product.
The first product I bought was the Tea tree Cleanser.

Image

This light, soothing, non-greasy moisturiser is enriched with the moisturising ingredients Pro-vitamin B5 and Aloe Vera. The word Aloe Vera made me very happy! This Cleanser is only 3 pounds at superdrug so I saved a lot of money! (My Clinique cleanser is over 25 pounds)
Tea Tree oil originates from Australia. It is a natural antibacterial agent known for its antiseptic healing properties. Peppermint oil is renowned for its therapeutic effect on skin disorders and for its cooling sensation.

You really don’t need much of it, just use a small amount of the cleanser and rub it into your face. It feels so fresh!

The next product is the Tea Tree facial scrub. My friend went to Bath two months ago and she bought me this because I couldn’t stop talking about how amazing my cleanser was.

Image

Just like the cleanser the scrub feels so fresh. The smell is amazing (if you like the smell of mint). If you want to use both the cleanser and the scrub, use the cleanser first and after you’ve washed it of use the scrub. The scrub is 3 pounds as well. There is also a primer, toner, wispes and moisturiser. I also use the wipes to clean my face but I haven’t used the creams or primer. If you do use the other products let me know what you think!

How to get in shape at home

sdad

For a long time I thought being a member of the gym was the only way to get in shape.
Well, I was wrong!
In January this year I decided to join the local gym. I wanted this for such a long time but I always tried to do some work outs at home. I didn’t really see any progress so I thought that it was impossible to get in shape withouth going to the gym.

I now see that this is total nonsens. I’m the kind of girl who doesn’t feel comfortable working out while lots of people are watching me.
I’ve started working out at home again, my biggest inspiration: youtube. You really don’t need to spend a lot of money on a membership at the gym when all you have to do is go to youtube. Since a couple of months I do yoga, pilates and even the Victoria’s secret work outs. Apart from the fact that I feel amazing, I can also see teh progress my body’s making. If you make a playlist with all the videos you think you might need to reach your goal, you don’t have to worry ever again!

I’ll post the links of the videos I use at the end of this post.
I have to say, I didn’t start working out because I needed to lose weight. I just wanted to be in shape, to train my muscles.
If you do want to lose ( a lot of) weight, I don’t know if the work outs I do will be right for you. To lose weight you have to do a mix of cardio and strength work outs. I don’t do cardio at home, but you can always go out for a walk of course.

I’ve also paid a lot of attention to my diet. I don’t drink soda or whole milk. As a snack I eat nuts/seeds or fruit.
I really feel much better since I’ve started eating healthier and working out. And of course I have days that I do eat junk food, but who doesn’t? You just need to find a balance and everything will be okay!
And you don’t always have time to work out but just try to do a few excercises in the morning, some in the afternoon and also some before you go to bed. You don’t need to be working out for 2 hours. Just like your diet, find a balance.

If you want to start working out and live healthier: You can do it! Never think that it’s impossible for you to get in shape.

Almond Coconut Chocolate Bars

3 layer Almond Coconut Chocolate bar. It sounds amazing but it looks even better!

I found the recipe on ohsheglows.com

Ingredients:

For the base:
  • 3/4 cup whole almonds
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free oat flour*
  • 1/4 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oat
For the middle layer:
  • 1 cup raw or roasted almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
  • 1/2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • pinch fine grain sea salt
  • 1/2 cup rice crisp cereal
For the topping:
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips (use Enjoy Life brand for soy-free)
  • 1/2 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1/4-1/3 cup toasted unsweetened large coconut flakes (such as Let’s Do…Organic brand)*

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line an 8-inch square pan with two pieces of parchment paper, one going each way.
  2. For the crust: Add the almonds into a food processor and process until a fine meal forms, just larger than sand. Now add the oat flour, oil, syrup, and salt and process until combined and sticky. Finally, add the cup of rolled oats and process until the oats are chopped and the dough comes together, but the oats still have a bit of texture to them. The dough should stick together when pressed between your fingers. Crumble the dough evenly in the prepared pan. Press the dough into the pan evenly, wetting fingers if necessary to prevent sticking. Smooth out the dough with a pastry roller and use your fingertips to press in the edges until even.  Poke a few holes with a fork to let air escape. Bake, uncovered, for around 13 minutes. Place pan on cooling rack for at least 10 minutes.
  3. For the middle layer: In a medium saucepan, stir the almond butter, oil, syrup, vanilla, and salt and heat over medium until the coconut oil is melted and the mixture is smooth. Whisk if necessary. Remove from heat. When the crust has cooled for 10 minutes or so, stir the rice crisp cereal into the almond butter mixture and pour this mixture on top of the crust. Smooth out and place in the freezer on a flat surface for 40-45 minutes, until the middle layer is completely solid. While the mixture freezes, toast the large coconut flakes (see note below). After the middle layer is frozen, remove from freezer and lift out the bar. Slice into 6 rows vertically and then slice 3 rows horizontally to make 18 small bars. Place bars in the freezer once again while you prepare the chocolate topping.
  4. For the chocolate topping: In a saucepan, melt the chocolate and coconut oil over low-medium heat. When half the chips have melted, remove from heat and stir until completely smooth. Stir in the shredded coconut. Remove bars from the freezer and spoon a small amount of chocolate on top of each bar. Immediately, sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes. Return the bars to the freezer until the chocolate is set. Serve immediately (bars will melt quickly, so I wouldn’t suggest keeping them out too long). Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer.

Notes: 1) To make 1/2 cup oat flour, add 1/2 cup rolled oats into a high-speed blender and blend on high until a flour forms. 2) To toast the large coconut flakes, spread onto a baking sheet and toast at 350F for only 3-4 minutes, until golden and fragrant. After cooling, I crumbled the flakes up into smaller pieces for easier sprinkling.

The perfect outfit

One of my biggest (and meaningless) addictions is looking at clothes on net-a-porter.
I love pretty much everything on that site. But it’s such a waste of time because I (and I think most of you too) won’t ever be able to buy those clothes, unless I become very smart, rich or end up being married with a rich guy.

Today I decided to make my addiction a little less meaningless. I have picked out some pieces to create ” the” perfect outfit. Just because we can’t effort Valentino or Prada does’t mean we can’t use it as inspiration for when we go to the high street!

My outfit:
dress

VALENTINO
Beaded tulle and wool-blend crepe mini dress
€7500
I think this dress is so cute.
I absolutely love dresses with collors. It makes the dress look so sophisticated.
I know it’s not affordable but there are so many cheaper copies of dresses like this. I have one from Primark and it’s only €14 pounds. And there are so many different colors.

coat

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
Oversized textured coat
€2,972.97
Same sweet color.
The coat just looks so soft and pretty.
And again there are many similair coats. H&M sells coats like this.

bagap

LOEWE
Amazona large leather tote
€1,600

shoes

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA
Belle crocheted and velvet pumps
€895

bracelet

ERICKSON BEAMON
Whiter Shade Of Pale Swarovski crystal gold-plated cuff
€982

London fashion week; my favorites

Hi!

I’m a little late with this but nevermind!
London fashion week just finished and for me that is the most amazing fashion week of the year. I love the work of all the british designers. I thought I’d just post some of my favorite outfits/shows of the LFW 2013. They’re al black and white , cause that are kind of the only colors I wea :)r. My fave show was the Burberry Prorsum both spring/summer and fall/winter.

ImageBurberry spring/summer 2014
I loved almost everything I saw on the catwalk of the Burberry show this year! All the clothes are so casual but still look very luxurious. I picked the outfit Jordan Dunn was wearing because I think she looked amazing in it and I love the blouse.

I didn’t really like the fall/winter collection of beautiful soul London but I did like the spring/summer looks. Love this casual black dress.
